What does Being a Leader Include?
Leaders need to be 21+, spiritually mature, and in agreement with our statement of faith.
Their role includes:
Leading morning devotions
Running evening small groups
Being present and intentional with campers throughout the week
Supporting campers pastorally and relationally
Helping with games during free time (when needed)
Leading their small group in daily duties
That said, there’s flexibility too. If leaders have part-time work or other commitments during the week, we’re happy to work with them. In the past, some leaders have balanced online work or study alongside camp.
Why be a leader?
Leading is a great opportunity for Christians 21+ to serve the next generation - helping equip them to know and share Christ, and to be grounded in a thoughtful, apologetics-based faith.
Leaders also get to sit in on sessions, take notes, and grow personally through world-class apologetics teaching from our speakers.
Q&A
Do I have to be there the whole time?
Ideally yes, but we understand some people have other commitments. Let us know your situation and we can chat about what might work.
Can I bring my youth group?
Absolutely! We’d love to have youth pastors and leaders bring their groups along. We’ll do our best to place you with your own students if that’s your preference.
Do leaders get time to learn as well?
Definitely. Leaders can sit in on sessions and benefit from the teaching just like campers.
What kind of support is expected from leaders?
Mainly being present - building relationships, encouraging campers, and helping create a positive, Christ-centred environment.
Will I need to help with practical things?
Yes, occasionally - things like games or helping your small group with duties.
